If you're looking for more coping tools to add to your recovery kit, don't forget about the healing powers of laughter. Laughter reduces stress; it's as simple as that. It might not be a cure for your disorder, but it certainly can't hurt to experiment with a chuckle or two.

Humor: An Antidote for Stress is an article written for nurses (but helpful to all) by Patty Wooten, RN BSN. Wooten calls upon medical research to support the theory that laughter may reduce stress. Detailing laughter's effects on the body, Wooten concludes, "positive emotions can create neurochemical changes that will buffer the immunosuppressive effects of stress." Additionally, some initial studies have shown that laughter actually may increase our sense of control, a benefit to people with anxiety disorders who often feel so out of control.

If you haven't found yourself laughing in a while, begin at the beginning. I will get you to think back to when you did laugh more and get those laughing muscles back in shape and book a workshop with Dandylyon today.

"Spirit guide" is a term used by the Western tradition of Spiritualist Churches, mediums, and >psychics to describe an entity that remains a disincarnate spirit in order to act as a spiritual counselor or protector to a living incarnated human being.
Traditionally, within the spiritualist churches, spirit guides were often stereotyped ethnically, with Native Americans, Chinese or Egyptians being popular for their perceived ancient wisdom, saints, or enlightened individuals. However, the term can also refer to animals or totems, controls, angels, or nature spirits.
What Is A Spirit Guide?
Many modern psychics subscribe to the theosophical view of who a spirit guide is. According to this doctrine, spirit guides would be persons who have lived many former lifetimes, have paid their karmic debts, and have advanced beyond a need to reincarnate. Each is assigned to watch over an incarnate person, not only on this Earth but on many other planets throughout the universe. Many psychics believe that spirit guides are chosen on "the other side" by us and God(s) before we incarnate, and that they guide us to follow our life's plan because we want them to.
Some people claim it is possible to meet one's spirit guide in dreams or on the astral plane (see Astral Projection).

who is a spirit guide?

The Gnostic religious view of a spirit guide is that, on the other side, you and your guide planned your life on earth before you incarnated. You would live the life and your spirit guide would help you along the way. Thus, if this is the case, everyone has a spirit guide because everyone planned their life prior to being born. Therefore, the spirit guide couldn't be a living relative, or an animal. Furthermore, a guide is said to have lived at least one earthly life before becoming a spirit guide so that they can understand the struggles of human life.

looks and appearances

Many well-known psychics have publicly described their guides. Helena Blavatsky talked about being advised by "Mahatmas", discarnate personages from India and especially Tibet, who dressed and behaved according to the dictates of their respective cultures. American Spiritualists often described their guides as resembling Native Americans. As most American Spiritualists were middle-class Anglo women, who had never seen an Indian of any nation, it would be more correct to say that their guides followed a general type of what they perceived or believed Indians to be. Others described their guides in terms of what sounds like mythologized Ancient Chinese appearance, and Irish guides were also common.

contacting methods

Several people offer techniques from experiences they claim say allowed them to meet their spirit guides. There are many published materials by various authors with their own insight into the phenomenon. Scientific experiments have been conducted, and none of the methods has been demonstrated to work.
The techniques that exist range from astral projection techniques to simple mind visualization exercises. It is said that the spirit guide is not on the Earthly plane, but communicating from "The Other Side". "The Other Side" is much less dense atmosphere than Earth, and so therefore it is believed that we must be tuned in to our guides by freeing the mind or doing one of many meditations. Lucid dreams can also help with contacting a spirit guide.

past life regression
$60.00 per person

If you are interested in finding out who you were in a past life then please contact me. This workshop will focus on laughing your stresses away. This 90-minute workshop will be devoted to a deep meditation in which we will regress into your subconscious to learn who you were in a past life.  We will have group discussion at the end of the regression. As a result you'll be able to learn who you were in your sub-conscious. You can also book this as a home party.

Past life regression is a technique used by some hypnotherapists to try to get clients to remember their past lives. Implicit in this procedure is the spiritual belief that souls exist and come back many times, living in different times and places, experiencing different genders, races, social classes and so forth in an attempt to learn. Although consistent with the Hindu belief in reincarnation, the idea of past life regression is fairly new in the West. it was popularized by the thousands of "readings" done in a trance state by Edgar Cayce, the "sleeping prophet." He claimed to be able, while in trance and unconscious, to diagnose the ailments of his clients in a way consistent with doctor's evaluations, although he had no medical training. When his readings started to mention subject's previous lives, Cayce was very upset, as it was inconsistent with his Christian upbringing. The Edgar Cayce Society of Canada is one of the organizations, which seeks to study this phenomenon. Another person who popularized this idea in the west was Brian Weiss, a doctor who while hypnotizing a female patient for unrelated reasons, found she was spontaneously describing past lives to him. He wrote up the records of these sessions in the book Many Lives, Many Masters. Very recently a three-part TV series featured Toronto hypnotherapist Georgina Cannon, who worked with several hundred volunteers with no previous experience of hypnosis. Of the taped stories, she chose the three, which had the most verifiable data (dates, place names etc.) and took camera crews to the locations mentioned. Their stories appeared to be verified. For the most part, the thousands of people who have been through the hypnotic regression experience mention very ordinary lives as peasants, farmers, soldiers etc. Very few mention being historical personages.
